STEFANIE GRAU is a German freelance art director, set designer, interior architect, and furniture designer based between Paris and Berlin. Working primarily in fashion, she develops spatial concepts, installations, and sets for editorials and campaigns.
Drawing on art, architecture, and performance, her visual language is shaped by spatial structures, material tension, and staging. Her projects explore the relationship between body, image, and environment, oscillating between constructed space and narrative suggestion.
Trained in interior architecture and stage design, she began her career in theatre, collaborating with institutions including Schauspielhaus Zürich, Burgtheater Vienna, Volkstheater Munich, State Theater Oldenburg, and Schauspiel Essen. While her practice has since shifted towards fashion, the stage remains a conceptual point of departure rather than a fixed context.
Ultimately, her practice is an ongoing search for the perfect image.
